I am the CEO of the Brooke Hill Academy Trust in Rutland. As part of our Trust one of our schools includes a special provision funded by Rutland County Council providing places to support children at risk of exclusion to transition back into their own mainstream settings. Included in this offer is an outreach service supporting teachers and leaders in their own schools to find strategies to support children to succeed.

Prior to my current role I spent 13 years as a Headteacher/ Executive Headteacher as well as a variety of additional leadership support roles as a Consultant Headteacher supporting schools in difficulty. In 2015 I was responsible for opening a new church school opened in 2015 where I was responsible for all aspects of visioning and developing the school from scratch and creating a strong ethos and culture.

Before moving into headship, I was a mainstream teacher before becoming an Advanced Skills Teacher for behaviour working in a special provision for SEMH. This was a highly influential part of my career working with some of the most vulnerable and challenging children in a school setting. I have a Masters Degree in SEND and in 2006 was also awarded the Microsoft European Innovative Teacher of the Year Award for a music/ media/ literacy project to engage disaffected learners.
